TOP 10:

List of my 10 favorite books read in 2017

01

 Space Case by Stuart Gibbs

Nothing scares me more than a forced suicide book. All through the book (based in the future) you watch the main character gain more and more clues about the murder in the small spaceship he and the rest of the crew are in.

02

 Divergent by Veronica Roth

This is the first book in the Divergent Trilogy and it might be one of the best books I have ever read (Even better than Green Eggs and Ham :D) You follow the main character as she tries to fit in a world wear children are categorized while trying to hide from the people who want to kill her because of what she really is. One thing I like about this book is the way the narrator acts, not caring what people think.

03

Mrs. Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs

This book amazes me by how they incorporate all of these peculiar black-and-white photos into the story. The main character, Jacob Portman travels to an island, where he finds that there are children, living in another timeframe, all with peculiar abilities, and hoping he can save them from the monsters that are attacking them.

04

The Kane Chronicles: The Serpent's Shadow by Rick Riordan

The Kane Chronicles are NOT my favorite series by Riordan, yet the last book in the trilogy almost makes it my favorite series. This book has the sarcastic character's teaming up with an evil ghost and having the Egyptian gods use there power to stop Apophis , while Carter tries to tell his crush Zia that he likes her, and Sadie is torn between a dying magician and the god of death.

05

 Dunk by David Lubar

I LOVE Lubar's weenie series, so I knew when I got this book I was in for a treat. When Chad's friend Jason falls ill, he tries to cure him with laughter. Meanwhile he tries to hide his secret job as the Dunk The Clown at the boardwalk from his heartbroken mom, whose husband has left them with virtually no money.

06

The Boy in The Striped Pajamas by John Boyne

I normally don't like historical fiction books, so I was't too excited to read the book. Was I in for a surprise! Bruno, the son of a top-ranking Nazi general meets a Jewish boy on the other side of a prison camp and struggles to keep friends with him, as everyone around him is saying the Jews are evil. Bruno tries to help his new friend, until they take it too far.

07

The Trials of Apollo by Rick Riordan

Another series by Rick Riordan? Oh yeah! Based a few years after the last book of the Hero's of Olympus story, Blood of Olympus, (another favorite) Apollo is sentenced to mortality in punishment for starting the war. He finds himself a servant of a 12 year-old demigod, Meg. He must fight for his life as he tries to figure out where all of the missing demigods are going.

08

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins

This was my second favorite book of the Hunger games trilogy (after The Hunger Games) , but even so, this book was so well written and the only book on this list that made me cry. This book has Katniss plotting with District 13 to assassinate President Snow, and all the while she is torn between, who she loves, Gale or Peeta?

09

 Ghosts by Raina Telgemier

Okay, so technically this is a graphic novel, but it is so good and I actually learned a lot about Mexican Culture, I had to put it on here. Cat's sister, Maya is sick with an incurable disease, so they have decided to move down to a gloomy, seaside town in California. They find there are ghosts of the town's deceased family members there and soon Maya develops a close relationship with the ghosts.

10

 Belly Up by Stuart Gibbs

This book has one of the most bizarre plots of any of the book I've read (and front cover), one of the reasons I picked it :) Theodore lives at a zoo/ theme park, where he is the most bored kid there. When Henry The Hippo, the zoo's main attraction suddenly dies, he's right on the case even though the murderer will do anything to prevent their secret from spilling out.
